"Pray for Cameroon"

Your prayers for my safe and productive trip can now turn to praise --- God blessed me according to His own pleasure. Please pray that God will use the experiences in Cameroon to make me seek after Him, and to fully conform my will to His.

Now, allow me to present a few of the prayer needs in Cameroon. As the message says on the embroidery of the leprosy patients at Mbingo Baptist Hosptial: "Pray for Cameroon."

1. Pray for the staff and students at the Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary. The faculty are overworked and stretched thin with a recently expanding student body. The students work hard, and struggle to pay their tuition (often while supporting families).

2. Pray for the pastors in the Cameroonian church. That they would give strong, scriptural sermons, and that they will wisely handle problematic spiritualism.

3. Pray for the good news of the gospel to extend to all people, particularly the Fulbe, who are largely unreached. Pray that the spirit will work in people to draw them to Christ.

General Requests:

For my physical safety on the trip

That the Lord will bless me as I teach computer skills and work with the equipment

That I'll work seamlessly with the nationals and build strong relationships with them

That I'll gain a greater understanding of missions and the international body of Christ

That God will teach me to submit everything to Him and to rely on His perfect plan for my life

July 22

For me to settle in to my teaching at Mbingo Baptist Hospital smoothly.

To have eager students at Mbingo, and that the Lord will sharpen their minds.

Give praise for the progress I've seen in my students at the CBTS. That they will remember the skills they've learned and use them to bring glory to the name of the Lord.

Give praise for the great friendships I've formed, and that I'll be able to maintain them even over great distances.

July 10
-For physical health, and that I'll have the strength and energy to continue my work at full capacity.

-That God will give me the wisdom and knowledge to teach effectively, and that I will be able to choose the most useful skills for my students to learn.

-That God will help my students to catch on quickly to the computer concepts (and that they won't get sleepy in the afternoons!).

-That I will continue to strengthen my friendships with the Cameroonians, and that Christ will shine through me as I interact with people. Pray that I will have a discerning heart as I consider ways that I might give to some of the many different needs that surround me.

-For my neighbor Mercy as she goes on a week-long crusade starting July 21 to spread the gospel in Buea.

-For my friend Michael as he prepares to transfer from Mbingo to Banyo, where he will minister in the large Muslim population.

-For a miracle with my student Samson, who has very poor vision. He is okay with the computer, but struggles to find the cursor for about half the time. (And pray for me to have patience as I am instructing him!)

Thank you so much for your prayers. I've really begun to realize the importance of prayer and trusting events over to God's care during my time here in Cameroon. There is a keen recognition of the need for praying and committing our well-being, safety, and every aspect of our lives into God's hands. This is not something that is just true in Africa - although it sometimes may be felt more keenly. I encourage you to actively commit your own lives over to God's care on a daily basis. We are just as desperately in need of God's grace and mercy when we are in America.

June 13
That I will quickly learn to understand Cameroonian English, and that I will be able to speak so that they can understand me.

Pre-trip
That logistics come together - particularly the delivery of several last minute orders before I leave. (This prayer has already been answered-everything arrived in time)
